    The best part is where he says: He [God] has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do, and if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry for ever and ever ’till the end of time. [Sweet, warm voice:] But he loves you.

    Exactly. The more I think about religion, the more it becomes apparent to me (to quote The Matrix), that “it’s just another method of control”.

    Or, in tune with the Instinct movie (which is based on Daniel Quinn’s Ishmael novel), “another means to maintain the illusion of control”. :-)
